This agreement provides ICAM access to DMG’s commercially available design and manufacturing tools and other pertinent machine and controller information. The sharing of technical knowledge and other resources will allow for a successful integration of ICAM and DMG respective products and services that will ultimately enable end-users to benefit from advanced DMG machine tool features via their CAD / CAM / PLM systems.DMG and ICAM will also collaborate on key marketing projects, as well as promote each other’s products and services in the NC manufacturing industry.
The SMA was conceived to support the market demand for field-proven integrated manufacturing solutions that allow for maximum performance of multi-axis CNC machines.
This newly formed partnership enables DMG customers to benefit from ICAM’s 35 years of NC post-processing experience with multi-axis machining applications including path planning, tool-tip programming, coordinate frame transformations, NURBS interpolation and arc fitting of point-to-point data.
Furthermore, ICAM’s integrated machine tool simulation solution, Virtual Machine TM, enables NC programmers to graphically simulate and test programs for collisions easily and automatically during post-processing, before the machine code is implemented within the production environment.
