ICAM Technologies Corporation is pleased to announce that Industria de Turbo Propulsores, S.A. (ITP) has chosen CAM-POST for its manufacturing facility in Zamudio, Spain. ITP works with partners including General Electric and Rolls Royce to manufacture advanced engines and gas turbines for the aeronautical, naval, and industrial sectors.

ITP will use CAM-POST with the Unigraphics CAD/CAM system to drive sophisticated 5 axis mills and mill/turns by companies including Mandelli, Cincinnati Milacron, Rigide and Dixie. ITP’s first task will be to replace their current NC post-processors, which were designed in-house.

“CAM-POST has helped us to improve manufacturing efficiency and reduce error by generating consistently accurate tool paths with a minimum of programming effort,” says ITP’s Manufacturing Engineering Department. “We are now able to make modifications to our posts quickly and easily using the built-in macro developer. This used to be a very time consuming process.”

“I’m pleased that ITP chose CAM-POST as their NC post-processing solution” says John J. Nassr, President of ICAM. “It underlines our commitment to serving the needs of the aerospace industry. We will work closely with the ITP engineering department to ensure that CAM-POST is used to maximum effectiveness in the manufacturing process.”

Industria de Turbo Propulsores, S.A. (ITP) was created in 1989 by merging companies from the public and private sectors of the Spanish Aeronautical Industry with the British company Rolls Royce Plc. ITP is involved in activities such as research, design, development, manufacturing and maintenance of engines, with aeronautical, naval and industrial applications such as power generation and use in oil and gas pipelines.
