ICAM’s Solutions for Robots

Featuring Adaptive Post-Processing

ICAM’s Adaptive Post-Processing™ solution for robots provides drilling and milling operations and interfaces directly with the most popular CAD/CAM systems on the market such as CATIA, NX CAM, creo, HyerMill and Mastercam.

Programming Software Solution

Adaptive Post-processing™ Solutions for Robots acquires, from the CAM system, the tool-path definition, the tool assembly definition and the tool compensation data to create specific G-code for major robots brands such as PUMA, ABB, KUKA and FANUC. ICAM’s Adaptive Post-Processing™ technology also features an integrated machine simulator that simulates and optimizes machine movements during post-processing.

ICAM’s SmartCUT optimization module can also be easily added to automatically eliminate time-wasting “air-cuts”. In other words, cutting machine tool motions are transformed automatically into RAPID or high-speed motions when the tool is not engaged with the stock. This provides a significant saving in machining cycle time.

Solutions for Robots

Users can use the same Adaptive Post-Processing™ development tool, user interface and database to develop, run and manage NC programs for robots, milling machines, turning machines as well as mill/turns.

The CAM-POST Complete General Description / General Information section question #3 supports a new “Robotics” option. The Machine Description / Rotary Axes section includes a new “DH params” tab where you define the 6 rotary joints of the robot. An [Import] button allows the rotary joint information to be imported from an existing Virtual Machine model.
