ICAM Technologies Corporation is pleased to announce that DaimlerChrysler has chosen CAM-POST® 2000, ICAM’s world-class NC post-processor development tool for their Technology Center in Auburn Hills Michigan as well as their Casting Plant in Kokomo Indiana. CAM-POST® will work behind the CATIA CAD/CAM systems in both facilities.

The DaimlerChrysler Technology Center located in Auburn Hills Michigan produces the prototypes that become the dream cars of tomorrow. In this facility that houses approximately 13,000 employees DaimlerChrysler designs, tests, builds, evaluates and develops marketing plans for its vehicles including the recently released PT Cruiser.

“Special care and planning goes into manufacturing prototypes,” says Ken Ryntz, Supervisor of the Experimental Machining Center. “We require a wide variety of machines to make these vehicles go from the drawing board to the assembly plant and CAM-POST ® has the capability and flexibility to suit our manufacturing needs.”

The Kokomo Indiana casting plant houses approximately 7,600 employees and produces transmissions, transaxles as well as over 133 different aluminum automotive components for the entire DaimlerChrysler line.

“Daimler Chrysler is synonymous with engineering excellence, technological innovation and advanced design,” says John J. Nassr, President of ICAM Technologies Corporation. “ We are delighted that CAM-POST ® will play a role in the success of building these world-class vehicles, for both today’s models and tomorrow’s classics .”
